In the first round of the semifinals there is a duel between the rising favorites Kloten and Olten. Both teams qualified for the next round with an exclamation point: Olten (5th) sent Sierre (4th) on vacation with 4-0 victories. Kloten finished La Chaux-de-Fonds 8-0 in the fifth game and reached the semifinals with a 4-1 series.

However, the role of the favorites is clearly distributed: anything other than the advancement of the airport people who are clearly better positioned in terms of the game would be a big surprise.

Cup winner against champion

The starting position in the second semi-final is more balanced. The 2020 cup winner, Ajoie (2nd), competes against Langenthal (3rd), the 2019 Swiss League champions. In direct duels this season, Oberaargau took the lead (9: 3 points).

If Langenthal loses, there is sure to be a climber. All other semifinalists meet the requirements for promotion to the National League. The last hurdle, a series against the last in the National League, will be removed this year.
