The two founders, David Eberle and Janis Berneker, did it: three founders have been investing in the keyboard app together since the Basel launch.
On Tuesday evening, Basel start-up “Typewise” presented its keyboard app on the TV show “Höhle der Löwen Schweiz”. The founders were able to win over Anja Graf, Roland Brack and Bettina Hein. Together, the three entrepreneurs are investing 300,000 francs in the still very young Basel company and receive 15 percent of the company’s shares in return.
“We are very happy,” said David Eberle after the successful performance, “the intensive preparations have paid off and we are also a bit proud to have been able to convince experienced investors of us.” Regarding the funding model of the application, the lions were skeptical, the success of the product depends, therefore, on the speed with which the number of users has skyrocketed.
The two founders invest the amount of money in the technical development of their application and in marketing, as the two explained in an interview with bz on Tuesday. The goal is to allow the number of users to grow as quickly as possible without having to hire significantly more employees.
