Kasami scores on debut – FCB confidently beat St. Gallen after quarantine

Basel have returned to the Super League with a victory after a forced break of four weeks and ten days in quarantine. The Basel team won 3-1 in the sixth round at St. Gallen. Pajtim Kasami scored his first goal in FCB’s first competitive match.

In the 70th minute Kasami hit a back pass from Julian von Moos with a strong shot to make it 3-1 for Basel. The blow nipped the final offense of St. Gallen in the bud. St. Gallen coach Peter Zeidler had brought new strength to the attack seconds earlier with three changes.

The Basler got the victory thanks to a good defensive performance and the greater efficiency in attack. With his third goal of the season, Brazil’s Cabral gave the guests the lead in the 6th minute when St. Gallen goalkeeper Zigi bounced off a shot. After Kwadwo Duah tied (13th), it was Fabian Frei who brought FCB back to the front shortly before half-time (39th). The representative of the sick captain Valentin Stocker completed a race of more than 65 meters with confidence.

“You can’t defend like that in the Super League,” Zeidler said, upset by the second goal in an interview with “blue.” After a perfect start to the season, the St. Gallen team has only earned one point from the last three games.

Interview with the FCB scorers:

The game in the practically empty Kybunpark was the only one in the Super League that could be played that weekend. The other four games had to be postponed after corona infections and quarantine regulations. Lucerne against Sion should rebound on Wednesday. Then the FCB returns to action; meets FC Zurich away from home.

Complete intensive care units: who should get a bed? Doctors, nursing homes, and patients wonder what the best solution is. Many older people triage themselves and die at home.

It is one of the most difficult questions of all. “Nobody wants to have to decide something like that,” says Professor Tanja Krones. We are talking about triage. From the moment there is not enough space and staff for all the patients who need treatment.

As a report by NZZ am Sonntag from Wallis Hospital in Sion shows, this is already a reality. On Friday, doctors had to refuse a bed in the intensive care unit to an 80-year-old patient with severe Covid symptoms. …
