On Monday, Zurich sacked coach Ludovic Magnin (41) after two and a half years. On Tuesday morning the team meets at Allmend Brunau for the first training session after the bang. Due to Nati’s absences, there are only 13 outfield players in addition to the three goalkeepers who train under the direction of interim coach Massimo Rizzo (46) and under the gaze of sports director Marinko Jurendic (42) and some fans.
Goalkeeping coach Davide Taini and Kondi coach Christian Kolodziej from the former coaching staff are there. But not Magnin’s assistant coach Alfons Higl, although the German is not reported as being fired in the official announcement. Rizzo’s assistant is U21 coach Artur Petrosyan.
Petrosyan at the top of the list?
If the FCZ hires the new professional coach internally, as it did with Urs Fischer, Urs Meier and Magnin, the 46-year-old Armenian with a playing past from Zurich would be at the top of the list.
The mood in the square? More muted. The players are focused and committed to the cause and are bathed in a heavy rain from the middle of the session. (Maryland)
