Super League: Duah takes St. Gallen to the top

The game: Soccer festivals in St. Gallen are on the rise again, at least almost too much. Almost 10,000 spectators arrive at the Kybunpark. St. Gallen fans see a better start from opponent Servette. They are tightly fitted and put pressure on the poplars. It takes about a quarter of an hour for the home team to show up to the game with a shot from Jérémy Guillemenot off the post. A few minutes later, St. Gallen had the same luck when Miroslav Stevanovic hit the ball on the lower edge of the bar. The action flattens out a bit until Kwadwo Duah nods on Limerick’s side. Servette doesn’t let the counter go down and continues to play happily forward, but is not rewarded. Even after the break, both teams are looking for luck on offense. But neither team is really dangerous in front of goal. In the end, St. Gallen is closer to the second goal than Servette to equalize. Guillemenot and Basil Stillhart leave the biggest opportunities behind when they give away alone in front of the door. For Peter Zeidler’s team, this means the third consecutive 1-0 victory in the league and again the first place in the table.

The door:
24. Duah 1: 0: Jordi Quintilla crosses the ball to the center and this precisely on the entrance of Kwadwo Duah. He scored the St. Gallen goal with a nose dive.

The best: Lukas Görtler. The vice-captain of St. Gallen cannot be bothered by an early and unwarranted yellow.

Worst: Servettes center forward Grejohn Kyei. Fully autonomous from five meters, it gives compensation with the head.

That gave something to talk about: Referee Schnyder makes a lot of dubious decisions. There are nine yellows at the end of a match that is not unfair. And that the goalkeeper of Servette Frick is allowed to show him the bird with impunity is not possible.

Then continue: First is the rest of the national team. Then it will only continue in two weeks. The St. Gallen team will have to play away in Lucerne (Sunday, October 18 at 4 pm), while Servette hosts the Master YB (Saturday, October 17 at 7 pm).
