FC Basel has the next crown case! A player will test positive on Saturday night. After consulting the canton’s medical service, the entire first team, including the staff, was quarantined because the player in question participated in the team’s training. It is not yet known how long the quarantine will last.
Consequently, the classic against FC Zurich, which should be played on Sunday afternoon, has to be canceled. As both clubs write on their home pages, the game will be postponed to a later date in accordance with the Swiss Football League protection concept.
It is not the first corona case at FCB. Manager Samuele Campo would not have been on the match sheet against FCZ because he tested positive. Forward Arthur Cabral and central defender Eray Cömert caught the virus weeks ago.
The last meeting of the two clubs was already overshadowed by Corona. At the time, in mid-July, much of the FCZ team was in quarantine, so the Zurich team competed with the U21 team and lost 4-0.
