The first goal at the new Stade de la Tuilière in Lausanne was absolutely worth the occasion. Because it was worth seeing. The only thing stupid for the host was that the opponent scored it.
In the 30th minute, Jordan Lefort switched sides on the outside and played Miralem Sulejmani on the scene. This ran into the penalty area all the way to the baseline, and then things went fast: pass back to Quentin Maceiras, pass to Michel Aebischer, pass to Lefort. The Frenchman shot straight and sank the ball to put YB 1-0 on the crossbar.
2 goals denied
YB didn’t stop at this single goal: In the 53rd minute, Felix Mambimbi rose to 2-0 for the undefeated leader after a header defeated by Jordan Siebatcheu. Joker Jean-Pierre Nsame made the decision 3 minutes before the end.
Additionally, YB was denied a hit each for handball (Siebatcheu / 57th) and offside (Fassnacht / 86th).
Guessand and Turkes sin in the end
However, play in the 12,544-seat arena was not as one-sided as the end result suggests. Lausanne could have scored the first goal in the new stadium in the 23rd minute. But the conspicuous Evann Guessand pushed the ball past the far post.
Immediately before the break, Guessand gave away the possible 1: 1. After the play, Aldin Turkes came very close to a goal twice.
But in the end, YB goalkeeper David von Ballmoos kept zero. The Bernese continue to lead the table 2 points ahead of surprising Lugano, Lausanne remains in midfield in 6th place. YB will continue in the Europa League at AS Roma on Thursday. The day before, Lausanne receives Vaduz in a supplementary SL match.
