St.Gallen does it like the two Appenzells: the ski areas can be opened from Thursday

The government of St. Gallen is opening the ski areas for the same reason as the neighboring cantons of Appenzell Inner- and Outer Rhodes: in view of the current epidemiological situation, this step is justifiable.

(SK / mlb) So now the canton of St. Gallen too – the government is taking an example from the cantons of Appenzell Inner- and Ausserrhoden, which reported on their plans on Tuesday morning and have reopened their ski areas since Wednesday. Those from St. Gallen can be visited again from Thursday, December 31, 2020. The cantonal health department writes in a press release.

The reason is the same as in the neighboring cantons. The ski areas depend on a permit from the canton. This license is issued if the epidemiological situation in the canton and the region, as well as the capacities of the hospitals, for locating contacts and testing allow it. Ski areas must also have an approved protection concept. According to the health department, the conditions for the reopening of ski areas in the canton are currently met.

“The situation is constantly being analyzed and the license can be withdrawn at any time, depending on the development of the epidemiological situation,” the message continues. Restaurants and bars will be closed.
