The “Sports Awards – Best of 70 years” program is looking for the best team: you can vote here!
The most important Swiss sports personalities will be the focus of the live broadcast “Sports Awards – the best of 70 years” on December 13, 2020. Starting at 20:05 on SRF 1, RTS 2 and RSI LA 2, the public will know which of the previous winners has been number 1 since the first prize in 1950, Paralympic athletes and equipment.

Nominees for the Best Team title have been determined
They all wrote the history of Swiss sport. But which team is the best in the last 70 years? The top 6 were selected by the Academy of Sports Awards. The specially founded 2020 committee, comprised of award winners in the categories of Female Athletes, Athletes, Paralympic Athletes, Coaches, Newcomers, MVP and Honorary Awards, nominated the following teams:
- 4 x 100m Relay (4th place in the 2019 World Cup) Women, Athletics – Del Ponte, Atcho, Kambundji, Kora
- National team (Silver World Cup 2018) Men, ice hockey
- Lightweight Quartet (2016 Olympic Gold) Men, rowing – Gyr, Niepmann, Schürch, Tramèr
- Davis Cup team (win in 2014), Tennis – Chiudinelli, Federer, Lammer, Wawrinka
- U-17 National Team (2009 World Champion) Men, soccer
- Olympic Doubles (Olympic Gold 2008) Men, Tennis – Federer, Wawrinka
Audience votes and Sports Awards Academy election results each contribute 50 percent to the final result. Attractive prizes will be raffled off among all voting participants: an experience night with a VIP package and a behind-the-scenes look at Weltklasse Zürich 2021, VIP tickets for a home match of the Swiss national football team of your choice and VIP tickets for a national ice hockey game.
