The Basler SP makes the decision on Wednesday morning, shortly before the deadline: Beat Jans is nominated for the regional council. The current National Council of the SP entered the governing council in the first vote.
In addition to its own candidate Kaspar Sutter, the SP also supports Basta’s co-chair, Heidi Mück.
Green nominee Heidi Mück
On Tuesday it became known that Heidi Mück would run for the second round. For their part, the Greens announced late at night that they would support Mück’s candidacy. This provides the best chance of securing the red-green majority on the governing council.
In order for the Basta co-chair to actually run, both the Greens and the SP must agree. For its part, the SP wants to decide on Wednesday morning with whom to go to the second vote together with Kaspar Sutter. However, the party has already nominated him for November 29. In addition to Mück, the Greens also support Sutter.
