Three people were killed in a Swiss-registered car Saturday night in southern France. They collided head-on with a truck traveling in the opposite lane.
The driver in the opposite direction, who was traveling on the A9 motorway near Nîmes in the Montpellier-Orange direction, was taken into police custody, as confirmed by the Nîmes prosecutor.
The identity of the victim is unclear
According to preliminary information, the victims are a 48-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman with a Portuguese passport. The third victim, who had no identification, is said to be in his 20s and 30s, according to the prosecutor.
The breathalyzer test of the trucker, a 62-year-old Pole, came back negative, he was slightly injured and had a fever, so a PCR test was performed on suspicion of Covid-19.
