Vaduz – St. Gallen 0: 1

Raiffeisen Super League, 2nd round, season 20/21

After two rounds, FC St. Gallen are the only team still without losing points. Last season’s surprise team beat the newly promoted Vaduz thanks to a late goal away from home.

A win against Vaduz is a rare experience for FC St. Gallen. Of the ten previous games, eastern Switzerland had only won one. Thanks to a goal from Portuguese André Ribeiro in the 83rd minute, it worked this time: away win and 1st place in the table!

Lucerne with late compensation against Lausanne

St. Galler need not share this with second promoted Lausanne-Sport, as Vaudois in Lucerne conceded the draw 2-2 in the 80th minute and narrowly missed the second win in Lucerne.

Basel is subject to Servette

While Lausanne-Sport champions Young Boys and Lugano, who scored points away against Sion and FC Zürich on Saturday, have four points, FC Basel ranked lower for the time being. Ciriaco Sforza’s team experienced the following disappointment a week after the home draw against Vaduz. In Geneva, they lost a 0-1 defeat against Servette, who were outnumbered. Alex Schalk scored the winning goal for French-speaking Switzerland with a penalty in the 77th minute.
