It’s an incredible story that “Die Zeit” publishes this week about Christoph Metzelder (40). It’s not about his glamorous career as a footballer for Schalke, Real, Dortmund and the German national team.
It’s about the dark side of the former central defender. In 2019, Metzelder was prosecuted for spreading child pornography, and this February the Düsseldorf District Court admitted the accusation.
“Die Zeit” is now giving the woman the opportunity to speak under the pseudonym Rafaela Jahn, who reported Metzelder to the police and thus started the scandal. There are shocking new details that Jahn reveals.
Metzelder confesses his fantasies
Metzelder contacted her in 2018 through Instagram chat. The result is a hot internet flirt that leads to a night together at a hotel. But then Metzelder starts talking to Jahn about sexual fantasies. Metzelder is said to have revealed that he would like to seduce the youngest possible teenager for a threesome with her.
Jahn is in awe that the soccer star comes out that way. She decides to play everything as a game and see how far she would go. According to the witness, he begins to send photographs. It quickly becomes disgusting. According to “Die Zeit”, Metzelder sends pictures of naked girls, sometimes ten, sometimes only five years old. “That destroyed me,” says Jahn. More disgusting images appear on the witness’s cell phone, even showing sexual acts with minors.
Loaded with 297 forbidden images
Jahn invents four- and nine-year-old nephews, which apparently stimulates Metzelder’s fantasy of trying to seduce them into sexual acts while on vacation on Sylt. Decides to tell the police about all the atrocities. The Metzelder case is rolling.
Neither Metzelder himself nor his lawyer commented on the German newspaper. The main trial against the former footballer will begin on April 29 in Düsseldorf. The charge: Possession of 297 images of child pornography. Furthermore, it is said that he obtained corresponding images for other people on 29 occasions.
But Metzelder and his lawyers fight for reputation by all means. Because in the case of the former Nati star, the case is particularly profound: 20 years ago Metzelder participated in the Red Wedge Association as a “guardian angel” against child prostitution and sexual violence against children. So now he’s on trial himself. (Red)
