At the north portal of the Gotthard road tunnel, vehicles pile up over six kilometers.
The time lost on the way south between Erstfeld and Göschenen in the canton of Uri is about an hour.
Meanwhile, the traffic had accumulated up to 10 kilometers.
To avoid traffic congestion, TCS recommends the route on the A13 through the San Bernardino tunnel as an alternate route south, as the traffic service wrote on its website.
From south to north there were four kilometers of traffic jams between Quinto and Airolo and a second loss of up to an hour.
