According to rumors from England, Liverpool FC plan to transfer Xherdan Shaqiri in the next transfer window. The 29-year-old moved to the Reds in 2018 but was never able to assert himself as a regular with Jürgen Klopp.

With one goal and two assists, Xherdan Shaqiri led the Swiss national team to victory over Bulgaria and Lithuania last week. Once again, the swirling attacker proved himself indispensable for Vladimir Petkovic’s team.

It looks a little different at Liverpool FC. In almost three years with the English champions, Shaqiri only managed 2,476 minutes of play. For comparison: winger Andy Robertson was on the field for 3,358 minutes this season alone. Not surprisingly, rumors are mounting again that the Swiss will be leaving next summer.

As reported by “Athletic”, who are usually well informed, Liverpool are said to have already put Shaqiri on the sales list. “I don’t think it’s time for a full overhaul,” Jürgen Klopp said recently with a view to the summer transfer window. According to his own statement, the German coach only wants to make “small adjustments.” One of them could be the Swiss international.

Shaqiri is the victim of a mega deal?

According to British journalist James Pearce, the Basler – like Divock Origi- is about to say goodbye. With the sale of the two high-class reservists, Jürgen Klopp would have a larger transfer budget available. This seems like an urgent need – the team that won almost everything in recent years is not really on track this year and is currently only seventh in the Premier League.

That is why the Reds are planning, among other things, the transfer of RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate in the summer. The French defender could cost the English up to 45 million francs. And Liverpool also want to invest in the storm. Rumors of a possible mega-deal with PSG striker Kylian Mbappé do not want to remain silent. The jewel of Dortmund, Erling Braut Haaland, is also currently in negotiations with representatives of the English master.

Both forwards are worth more than 100 million euros in today’s market. Mbappé could leave PSG in the summer for a sum of between 120 and 150 million euros. Starting in the summer of 2022, the world champion would be available for free.

He looks similar with Norwegian prodigy Haaland. According to various media, an exit clause of 75 million euros will be hidden in the contract of the BVB forward, which will come into force in the summer of 2022. If a major club wants to sign the 20-year-old player already this year, Dortmund would probably not be satisfied with a double-digit million sum.

The extent to which Liverpool FC can afford such an ambitious purchase will become apparent in the summer. Shaqiri’s sale is now apparently being viewed as the first step in financing such a mega deal.
