(wap) Bündner Kantonspolizei announced Monday that a 21-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle on Sunday night at Arostrasse in Castiel. The car, in which there were three other people, slid into a curve, pulled off the road, and overturned multiple times. The car stopped just 50 meters below the mountain road and immediately caught fire. The two passengers in the back seat managed to break free. The driver and his passenger died in the flames.

The Arosa Mitte fire brigade moved with 20 emergency people and was able to extinguish the fire. One of the survivors, a young man of 18 years, had to be taken to the hospital by helicopter with serious injuries. The other could be transported by ambulance. The path was closed for four hours. The emergency services are attended by a care team. Cantonal police are now clarifying how the accident could have happened.
