Selecta’s managing director in Switzerland, Thomas Nussbaumer, has announced his resignation internally. He had already informed the Selecta management team at the end of 2019 that he would be leaving no later than January 31, 2021.
In the future, he wants to “pursue personal projects outside the company,” he writes in an internal letter. He is a Selecta veteran and has nearly 35 years of service. In recent years he has been responsible for the entire DACH region.
His successor was hired in November
His successor as CEO of Selecta Suiza will be Frank Keller. He worked for British Compass Group for seven years, most recently as Country Manager for Compass in Colombia. He left this job in March of this year. Prior to that, he was Managing Director in Germany for Marketing and Sales and previously as Country Manager in Switzerland.
According to Nussbaumer, he starts working for Selecta Suiza in early November and will officially take over at Nussbaumer at the beginning of the year.
Required reduction
Grupo Selecta is battling a huge debt load and falling sales due to the Corona crisis. This is why the number of Selecta vending machines is reducing by almost 20 percent across Europe.
At the same time, we must also cut staff, we are talking about 15 percent. Selecta is owned by the American financial company KKR and is based in Cham ZG. The Swiss headquarters of the company is located in Kirchberg, near Bern.
