Corona crime thriller in Austria: hooded people film secret team training in LASK
Isn’t it a day without Corona’s violation in soccer? It almost seems like it. Yesterday it was announced that Augsburg coach Heiko Herrlich had violated DFL isolation regulations. Stephan Lichtsteiner and Ruben Vargas’ trainer went to buy toothpaste during his team’s hotel quarantine and now loses his team’s Bundesliga restart against Wolfsburg.
A case in Austria is even more curious. As in Switzerland, training is currently only allowed in small groups. However, league leader Linzer ASK, who completed normal team training with physical contact, did not comply with this regulation. It is stupid that everything was recorded on video.

The Austrian Bundesliga has received several videos that clearly show the violation. It is not entirely clear who recorded the videos. In a statement, LASK stated that the cameras were installed by two hooded suspects as part of an “illegal nighttime robbery.”
The LASK statement:
“He was and still is far from us, as is now supposed, to gain an unfair competitive advantage through training measures. Like a camera illegally held in the course of a nighttime robbery, distance rules were not consistently observed in training. We take note of this and we will cooperate with the Bundesliga Senate 1 in any way and we will explain ourselves there. ”

The leader’s eleven competitors protested in a joint statement against violations of the LASK crown. The images would clearly document that, despite the strict ban from the responsible ministries, Linz residents had completed the training with full physical contact, he said. “This also confirms the rumors about the team training for Upper Austria that have been going on for days.”

The managing director of the first Red Bull Salzburg tracker said: “We are surprised and stunned by the way Linz ASK does it. We have been working very hard together on prospects for many months, not just for Austrian Bundesliga football. Obviously, not all clubs and individuals are aware of this great responsibility.
Austrian board members Markus Kraetschmer and Peter Stöger said: “Pure poison for our efforts and simply disciplined and selfish.” The Admira went one step further. “Events have shaken us deeply and left us speechless. FC Flyeralarm Admira reserves the right to take legal action in the event of an eventuality, “said President Philip Thonhauser.
LASK is unreasonable and, in turn, takes legal action. Due to industrial espionage, Linz residents have now filed a criminal complaint with the police. “We are surprised that there are obviously third parties who are willing to use criminal energy to enter our club facilities to carry out industrial espionage. The perpetrators were filmed and are now being investigated, ”explained Managing Director Andreas Protil.
Police appeared a few days ago during a LASK training session. Back then, however, to verify that the Upper Austrians were training in small groups as needed and that the prescribed distances were maintained. In their statement, the Linzers do not deny team training, but they do:
“In order not to jeopardize gaming and training operations, LASK has been subjecting its players to closed-mesh PCR testing at its own expense for a long time. Because the health of everyone involved is our top priority, the testing intervals were deliberately kept short. In light of these facts, the risk of contagion is de facto excluded as part of our training. So there was no risk to our players or anyone else at any time. “
However, LASK now faces consequences. According to the ÖFB Code of Justice, the punishment for possible violations of fair play ranges from a warning, a fine and specific deductions to the forced descent and exclusion of the ÖFB. (pre)
