(he sat) Due to the “sharp increase in the number of cases”, the Schwyz governing council tightened protective measures in the canton as of Friday. A general mask requirement now applies to all public and private events with more than 50 people. If the required distance cannot be maintained, the obligation to wear a hygiene mask now also applies to public and private events with fewer than 50 people.
In the canton of Schwyz, the mask requirement also applies from Friday in restaurants, bars, discos and clubs, as well as in publicly accessible interiors such as shops, post offices, cinemas or places of worship, if not they can keep their distance.
The governing council is concentrating “specifically on the events area, as this has proven to be the most common source of infection in the recent past,” it writes in its statement. On the other hand, Schwyz currently does not have to wear a mask at the point of sale because “there are no signs of frequent infections” in this area.
