SCB can still win: Lugano beats Torpektakel in overtime
SC Rapperswil-Jona – SC Bern 2: 3
After five defeats, SC Bern celebrated another victory. Coach Don Nachbaur’s team won 3-2 at the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers. The Bernese started out dreamy. Gaëtan Haas, on loan from the Edmonton Oilers, put the guests ahead after 47 seconds and showed his individual class. The center also had the stick in a 2-0 win by Vincent Praplan (6th), who scored for the first time after nine goalless games, and Dustin Jeffrey’s 3-1 (43rd).
The SCB was successful twice in the power play, which appears to be working slowly. After the Bernese only succeeded twice in the majority in the first nine games of the championship, they now scored two goals in the power play, as they did four days earlier against Ambri-Piotta (3: 4 nP).

If the Bernese only needed three shots for the first two goals, in the end they sinned and had to tremble until the end. This time, however, they could not be deterred from the road to success as against Ambri: against Leventines, the SCB had given an uncontrolled 3-0 lead. He only conceded to the Lakers 2: 3 (55th). Marco Lehmann, who scored the first goal in the National League, was responsible for this. For the Rapperswilers it was the fifth loss by a goal difference in the current championship, the sixth overall.

HC Lugano – HC Freiburg-Gottéron 5: 4 nV
Formally strong Lugano lost a 3-0 home lead to Friborg-Gottéron, but thanks to a Tim Heed goal in extra time, they finally came off the ice as the winner. The Swedish defender decided the entertaining game after just 31 seconds into extra time with a solid shot.
Before that, the two teams had an open exchange of blows. Lugano looked like the sure winner, leading 3-0 after 25 minutes, before Kilian Mottet and Matthias Rossi cut the lead to 2: 3 in the 35th minute. But just ten seconds after the guests scored, Lugano captain Alessio Bertaggia regained the two-goal lead with a deflector. Chris DiDomenico and Viktor Stalberg balanced the game until four minutes before the end.

While third-placed Lugano celebrated their third win in a row, Friborg-Gottéron failed to jump to the top of the table in third place. Coach Christian Dubé’s team has been waiting for a win for three games on foreign ice.
