HC Davos – SC Bern 2: 5
The game: In six months, when the new season begins, Philip Wüthrich (23) will be number 1 in SCB goal. In the end, however, Finn Tomi Karhunen (31) was repeatedly preferred to him. In ten of the last 13 games, Wüthrich was just one gate opener in the gang. Now you can play against Davos again. And it shines.
It is incredible the opportunities that the HCD leaves. Especially Aaron Palushaj. After a ball from SCB defender Ramon Untersander, the American comes to a conclusion for the first time after eight seconds, but also fails five minutes later after a two-on-one situation in Wüthrich. Later, the unlucky one hits the edge of the goal three (!) Times, but he’s in good company. Félicien Du Bois, Benjamin Baumgartner and Magnus Nygren also come across metal.
The SCB is completely different: the Bernese, who seemed to have been unlucky on his skates for weeks, proves to be brutally efficient. Calle Andersson scores 1-0 after Chris Egli lost a puck. Kyen Sopa (20) scores his first National League goal in the 14th game during a Davos pressure phase. And double-scorer Cory Conacher rose to 3: 1 before the second break. And Wüthrich?
The 2019 Langenthal Master Guardian can only be defeated twice. Double outnumbered by HCD’s top scorer, Enzo Corvi. And Valentin Nussbaumer, when Bern can play more with a man in the last third. That later, Wüthrich was able to avoid the shorthander in the second leg against Nussbaumer.
SCB also wins their second game after winning the cup against ZSC. And he travels directly for the away game on Friday in Lugano. (Arkansas)
The best: Philip Wüthrich (SCB): Calmly and clearly, he saved 31 shots.
The plum: Aaron Palushaj (HCD): Fail and fail. And then he is awarded the title of Best Player.
Tear: 12. Andersson (Pestoni, Conacher) 0: 1. 20. (19:36) Corvi (Ullström / PP2) 1: 1. 26. Soup 1: 2. 39. Conacher (Olofsson) 1: 3. 46. Nussbaumer (Aeschlimann, Guerra / SH!) 2: 3. 48. Conacher (Untersander) 2: 4. 59. Jeffrey 2: 5 (ins read Tor).

HC Lausanne – ZSC Lions 5: 1
The game: Four days after the weak performance in the cup final against SC Bern, the ZSC Lions show the following meticulous performance. In the power game they take the lead after a successful combination by Marcus Krüger. But the tie in Lausanne is not long in coming.
Then the Zurich horror show begins. In the power play, Etienne Froidevaux can trick Maxim Noreau. Then goalkeeper Lukas Flüeler lets the Berne veteran through and Florent Douay dusts off to lead the Vaudois.
Then he loses the discipline and the nerves of Zurich. So Lausanne can still shoot 4: 1 in the middle third with two short hits. Lions have long accepted their frustration. Krüger provokes a fight when he violently attacks goalkeeper Luca Boltshauser. His teammate Simon Bodenmann is mistreated by defender Aurélien Marti. Johann Morant, who previously controlled Emilijus Krakauskas over the gang, is just a bystander. The Frenchman, whom sports director Sven Leuenberger brought in as a bodyguard, is once again unable to find a dance partner for a fight.
Even offensively, the guests are almost nonexistent. And Sven Andrighetto’s impressive streak ends: the National League’s top scorer is left without a point for the first time after 19 games.
In Sweden, “Aftonbladet” announced that assistant coach Tommy Samuelsson will be leaving the Lions. His successor is Peter Popovic (53, now Färjestad), who has already successfully assisted ZSC head coach Rikard Grönborg on the Swedish national team. (Mr)
The best: Brian Gibbons (Lausanne). The American is the steering wheel of Vaudois’s game.
The plum: Maxim Noreau (Lions ZSC). Sabers on the puck in front of Douay’s shorthander and has to take an early shower after a big step against Krakauskas.
The objectives: 10. Krüger (Hollenstein, Bodenmann / PP) 0: 1. 11. Emmerton (Grossmann, Bertschy) 1: 1. 15. Douay (Froidevaux, Genazzi / SH) 2: 1. 28. Hudacek (/ PP) 3: 1 33. Gibbons (Genazzi, Almond / PP) 4: 1. 58. Almond 5: 1 (through the empty door).

HC Ambri-Piotta – EHC Biel 3: 4 nV
The game: Ambri’s coach, Luca Cereda, starts where he left off in the last game: he fights with the penalties his team receives. In Zug it was a two man three minutes from time, outnumbered by Leventino who conceded the fatal goal. Cereda was furious after the final whistle to such an extent that he called a penalty match. Against Biel, it’s a penalty against Fora for high sticks that bothers him. The reason: Fora stumbles in front of him, and when he falls, his staff hits the sight of Biel’s circle. In the power game, the Zeelanders score 2-0. Because the Biancoblu are not as excited in their fourth game in seven days, you might think the duel is over. Or at least the people of Biel think so. This is the only way to explain his carefree, if not arrogant, demeanor in a later power play. They give the Leventinos generous advances. Kostner closes one of them with a shorthander to make it 1: 2. And the compensation drops just 102 seconds later. The Zeelanders cannot be decisively separated, Ambri also equals 3: 3. And scores in a game you didn’t think was possible. Because the Leventinos have to survive the last four minutes in the minority, sometimes even in double (!). The Bieler rejects this invitation to a complete success, but gets the additional point in extra time.
PS: There is bad news in Ambri even before the game: Canadian Matt D’Agostini’s knee injury is longer than expected; the season has ended for him without ever having returned to the ice since the end of October. (Nevada)
The best: Damien Brunner (Biel). It makes the moments more entertaining in this rather dry game.
The plum: Michael Fora (Ambri). Ten minute penalty. Too much for a leading player whose club lands twice, probably inadvertently, but still uncontrollably, in the face of an opponent.
The objectives: 22. Rajala (Forster) 0: 1. 27. Hügli (Pouliot, Moser / PP) 0: 2. 35. Kostner (Zwerger / SH!) 1: 2. 37. Perlini (Kneubühler, Flynn) 2: 2. 50 Hügli 2: 3. 54. Perlini (Flynn, Hächler / PP) 3: 3. 62. Cunti (Brunner) 3: 4.
