For RTL, Jenke von Wilmsdorff tried drugs himself and ate gout. But that is already over: the journalist and the private station announced the end of their collaboration.
Jenke von Wilmsdorff worked as a reporter, author, and editor for RTL for almost 20 years. Now the private announcer and von Wilmsdorff have ended their cooperation.
The exclusive contract had not been extended, RTL announced in a press release on Friday. Both sides were looking for “new challenges”.
Jenke went to “physical and psychological limits”
There, RTL Managing Director Jörg Graf thanked von Wilmsdorff, 54, for the years of cooperation where he “literally went to his physical and psychological limits.” “Out of great respect for Jenke, I wish him all the best and the success he has had with my station.”
Jenke von Wilmsdorff initially worked primarily for the weekly RTL magazine “Extra”, which later became the research series “Jenke als …” and finally the award-winning format “Experiment Das Jenke”. It was also seen in other formats, such as the reality show “Bounty”.
In 2019, Jenke von Wilmsdorff won the German Television Award in the category “Best infotainment” for “Jenke inspires courage! Living with breast cancer”, “The Jenke Experiment” and “Jenke About Life”.
The latest episode of the documentary series “Jenke’s Experiment: Loving Animals and Eating Animals: How Much Meat Should It Be?” It was broadcast on RTL on March 2. (jwo)
