Roche president Franz is in favor of mandatory corona vaccination

The federal government wants it. And Basel-based pharmaceutical multinational Roche is also excited about the candidate vaccine from Biontech and Pfizer. Boss Severin Schwan (52) describes it as a “breakthrough”. “It’s really impressive that this technology seems to be working,” enthuses Schwan. Roche itself does not have a vaccine business.

The product is not yet on the market. When the time comes, vaccination with a Covid-19 agent should be mandatory. This is at least the opinion of Christoph Franz (60), chairman of Roche’s board of directors. “Personally, I am in favor of mandatory vaccinations,” says Franz in today’s issue of the “Handelszeitung”. “Although I know this is a controversial position.” In the preliminary print, which is available to VIEW, the Swiss business leader continues: “Protecting the herd in a town is very important.” Because a vaccine is not just a protection measure for you.
