The 25-year-old Spaniard will take over the booth at “Scuderia” next season. For this, Daniel Ricciardo joins McLaren.

The Formula 1 racing team Ferrari has already filled the vacancy that resulted from the separation of Sebastian Vettel. Spanish Carlos Sainz leaves McLaren at the end of the season and receives a contract with “Scuderia” for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

Sainz had his GP baptism of fire in Australia in mid-March 2015. Last year, the 25-year-old finished sixth in the overall World Cup standings. So far he has not won one of 102 starts. For this, he accumulated 267 points in the championship and finished third in the Brazilian GP last year, which is his best result.

While Sainz will be deployed alongside Ferrari No. 1 Charles Leclerc of Monaco, career planning for four-time world champion Vettel is still open.

Ricciardo succeeds Sainz at McLaren

The vacant cabin at McLaren will be taken over by Daniel Ricciardo for next season. The Australian leaves Renault and signs a multi-year contract with the British racing team. McLaren will tackle next season with Ricciardo and 20-year-old Lando Norris.

Ricciardo has won 7 Grand Prix so far. He celebrated all victories during his time at Red Bull (2014-2018). He has been driving for Renault since last year, but so far he has not been able to succeed with the French.
