Rappi’s first win – Zug slows Lugano – ZSC grants 3-goal lead
Ambri-Piotta – Rapperswil-Jona Lakers 1: 5
In the duel between the two teams without points after two games, the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers opened their account with a 5-1 victory at Ambri-Piotta.
The last season in old Valascia should be tough for Ambri-Piotta. Matt D’Agostini scored the first goal for Leventines after a total of 126 minutes of power play to make it 1-1, but this was not enough for the points.

With the middle third, Andrew Rowe gave the Lakers a second lead, Leandro Profico, Kevin Clark and Lukas Lhotak even secured an uncontrolled victory in the final stretch. Ambri thus has zero points after three games and a devastating goal difference of 1:10.
Rapperswil-Jona, meanwhile, achieved the deserved first victory of the season after narrow defeats in Freiburg and against Zug.

Bern – Lausanne 3: 4
SC Bern charged, Lausanne replied in cold blood. The Vaudois won 4: 3 on the road.
Lausanne HC’s second trip in a week ended much better than the 6-0 debacle in Biel. Although SCB was ahead at two and a half minutes thanks to captain Simon Moser, Lausanne’s new Canadian defender Mark Barberio, Robin Leone and Joël Genazzi turned the tide with three goals in ten minutes.

After that, the Bernese had to further intensify their offensive, while the Vaudois responded. They did it quite successfully. Vincent Praplan regained his tension with 3: 4 in the 44th minute, but it was not enough to equalize

Biel – Freiburg-Gottéron 4: 5
Friborg-Gottéron won against Biel, one of their favorite opponents, 5: 4.
In the second home game against a rival from French-speaking Switzerland, EHC Biel could not take advantage of the gala performance at the start of the season against Lausanne (6-0). It was just under four minutes before goalkeeper Joren van Pottelberghe had to come up behind him for the first time this season. After Daniel Brodins 1-0, Freiburg never let them catch up fully.
The dragons used leadership time and again to skillfully play counterattacks. Viktor Stalberg even managed the decisive 5: 2 shortly before the second break. The team of coach and sports director Christian Dubé won for the fifth time in the last six away games in Biel.

Lugano – train 2: 3
It would have been a first in the National League if Lugano had also won Game 3 of the season to zero. However, hope was dashed early on, as Zug took the lead after 156 seconds on a power play goal from Gregory Hofmann. In the end, the central Swiss won 3-2, as in the first game of the season.
Luca Fazzini managed to equalize just 20 seconds after the 0: 1, but Dario Simion put the guests back in the lead in the 16th minute with another overpaid goal. As a result, the Bianconeri developed a lot of pressure, but EVZ goalkeeper Leonardo Genoni showed up in top form. In the 25th minute, for example, he moved fast and saved against Mikkel Bödker. Then luck came when Lugano defender Alessandro Chiesa missed the post (42nd).

All this took revenge for southern Ticino, who fell 3-1 after a distraction from Calvin Thürkauf (47th). More than the 2: 3 of new Swedish defender Tim Heed, who succeeded in the power game, Lugano could no longer do so. The superiority of the hosts underscores the shot ratio of 44:27.

ZSC Lions – Servette Geneva 4: 5 nP
The ZSC Lions surrendered against Genève-Servette, a victory they believed was certain. In the last third, Geneva caught three goals and prevailed on penalties.
The duel between the qualifier and one of last season’s surprise teams (before the playoffs were canceled) turned out to be unexpectedly dramatic in the end. The decision seemed to have been made eight seconds into the third period, when Königstransfer put Sven Andrighetto 4-1 with his first goal. The 27-year-old former ZSC junior returned from the NHL and KHL and is now playing his first season in the Swiss top league.

In the end, however, Servette’s newcomer, Joël Vermin (from Lausanne), was the man of the night. He scored goals number 2 and 3 in the second game of the season and also scored in the penalty shoot-out, like his two teammates.
