Starting Wednesday, Aargau residents can also go to the pharmacy for the corona test. Since November 2, the federal government has also allowed pharmacists to run rapid tests.
The Aargau Pharmacists Association welcomes the Federal Council’s decision. Pharmacists would be delighted to “make a significant contribution to increasing testing capacity,” the ad says.
In recent weeks, employees have been trained and pharmacies have been reformed and updated so that protection concepts can be met. The Department of Health and Social Affairs, for example, requires a separate room in which the tests take place and a special waiting room. In addition, people visiting the pharmacy for a rapid corona test must be strictly separated from all other customers.

Rapid test only for risk-free patients with symptoms
At the moment, rapid tests are used in two cases: for people with symptoms who, however, do not belong to the risk groups particularly, and for people without symptoms who have received a report from the Covid application. Experience in other cantons has shown that the demand for rapid tests is high, writes the pharmacists association. To avoid accumulations in front of and in pharmacies, it is necessary to register for the test in advance. This is done through an online booking tool on the pharmacy websites.
A quick test provides a result in 15 minutes. Patients are informed of the result on site at the pharmacy or by SMS / telephone. Pharmacies are also required to report all test results to the Federal Office of Public Health. Positive in two hours, negative in 24 hours.
