The Federal Food and Veterinary Safety Office (FSVO) writes in a message from the company.
The affected product is the spice preparation Chiles “Alim Aci Pulbiber 450 gr Pet” with lot number 410202 and the expiration date before April 30, 2023. The affected product can be returned in the stores where it was purchased. The sale price will be refunded even without a receipt.
Ochratoxin A (OTA) is a mycotoxin naturally produced by molds found in various foods. According to the European Food Safety Authority, OTA can have a genotoxic effect by directly attacking DNA, the genetic material. It could also have a carcinogenic effect on the kidneys.
