As confirmed by the cantonal police in Bern on Radio SRF, a bomb threat was received on Monday morning. Individual houses have already been evacuated for security reasons. Where and to whom the bomb threat points is still unclear.

As a spokeswoman for the Bernese cantonal police media said shortly before noon on demand, the deployment continues. He couldn’t say how long it would last. The local fire department has established a diversion. Bern cantonal police do not currently provide further information.

Shortly before 9 am, the police cordoned off an area in the Solothurnstrasse, Bielstrasse and Bahnhofstrasse area for security reasons. Pieterlen lies northeast of Biel in the direction of Solothurn.
