The commuter newspaper “20 minutes” took a curious case by a Basel police officer. “A concerned woman called us and reported a dog that had been sitting in the window for a long time and was not moving,” writes police officer Raphael Schneider on Instagram. The caller was afraid that something might have happened to the animal. He then went out with his companions to check on the situation and help the dog if necessary.

At the scene, however, the police were able to find to their relief and amusement that no animals were in need. The alleged animal was a pillow patterned in the shape of a dog. The officers were able to leave without worry. But they were obviously amused: ‘What were we laughing at? Something like this has never really happened to me, ”writes Schneider.

While it was not an emergency in this situation, the woman acted correctly when alerting the police. This is what Toprak Yerguz, spokesman for the Basel-Stadt Justice and Security Department, says in about 20 minutes. It is better to call once more than once.
