Patrick Jetzer (49) from Dübendorf ZH is actively involved against the crown policy of the federal government. It fundamentally questions everything: the effectiveness of the measures, the effectiveness of the masks, the rapid approval of the vaccine.
His criticism is directed against the too quick and, in his opinion, not regular approval of the vaccine. At the demonstration against the measures on Turbinenplatz at the end of August, when comedians Marco Rima and Andreas Thiel had much criticized appearances, Jetzer was the organizer and presenter and later gave interviews to some media. He also wrote a book that was published shortly after.
The problem: At the time he was still working in the field at Pfizer. A warning from the company followed immediately in early September, and shortly after the layoff. Without compensation. Patrick Jetzer was immediately released. The trained chemical laboratory technician had worked for Pfizer for ten years, most recently with a 90 percent workload.
The company violated the fiduciary obligation
Today, after the notice period expired, Jetzer reported his dismissal with a press release, criticizing the fact that he was fired “for exercising the right to freedom of expression.”
However, the company saw it very differently. In the warning, Pfizer wrote to Jetzer’s management: “In principle, you are free to speak out against the crown measures by the federal government and the cantons and to participate in demonstrations. But you also have a duty of loyalty to your employer and, in particular, you are not allowed to do anything that could harm Pfizer. doctors and clients.
Furthermore, the crown skeptic had publicly criticized the mRNA technology. Pfizer writes in the warning: “You probably know that we are developing an mRNA vaccine with enormous effort and expense.”
Jetzer apparently doesn’t see any possible misconduct. In his press release he writes: “The question of unfair dismissal arises.” He got a lawyer.
“I criticized the political processes, not my employer”
At BLICK’s request, Jetzer commented on his expulsion from the pharmaceutical company. “I’m not upset about the firing, but about the fact that you will be fired if you expose yourself.” He emphasizes that he has never harmed the company. «I criticized the political processes and never my boss. It was, of course, a business-friendly policy, and in this case the interests of the company and my criticisms were very close. But I was hoping the company could make this clear distinction. “
When he began to get involved, he was aware of a possible conflict, but not that it would cost him his job. “I did not expect Pfizer to react so quickly and restrictively. So at first I was not expecting my discharge, and when it came, it was too late and the book was already in print. “
Jetzer Strives for Independence in Precious Metals Trading
Since his release, Patrick Jetzer has stepped up his political commitment. “I am also starting my own business in precious metals trading. I still leave open if I will ever turn politics or my commitment into a profession, I have not yet given any concrete ideas. “
On the other hand, he believes that it is unlikely that he will still be able to get a job in traditional chemical-pharmaceutical companies.
Pfizer declined to comment on data protection reasons.
