Perfect quintuple! Bayern bodigt BVB and won the German Super Cup
Bayern 3-2 Dortmund
At the German Super Cup in Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich put on an attractive television program. Bayern won 3-2 and took their fifth title of the year after championship titles, the DFB Cup, the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup. Dortmund came much closer to victory in the second half than the record champions.
What seemed clear after a good half hour, after the double win 2-0 over the Bundesliga runners-up, turned into a spectacular open duel in the second half.
Manuel Akanji captured the ball in midfield against Robert Lewandowski and thus began the equalization of Erling Haaland at 2-2 in the 55th minute. Thomas Meunier and again Haaland appeared alone in front of Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, but failed because of this. Furthermore, coach Lucien Favre’s team had a better chance after the break. But Joshua Kimmich finally scored the winning goal in the 82nd minute.

Roman Bürki had to be represented by Marwin Hitz in the Dortmunder Tor due to illness. The BVB substitute goalkeeper did well and was powerless on all three goals.
In the Super Cup, which was introduced in 2010, Bayern and Dotmund have repeatedly replaced each other as winners. Bayern have won six times (four times in the last five years), Dortmund three times. (pre / sda)
