Order food directly through Google search or Google Maps

In Germany this will be implemented immediately, Switzerland will have to wait a little longer.

Due to the corona virus, older people and others in the risk group still sometimes cannot go shopping. Deliveries of food through Migros, Coop or Farmy.ch require time and patience due to the rush, both when ordering and waiting for a distant delivery date. And many miss their beloved chocolate croissants or their favorite lunch menu at the home office.

This could be remedied with a new feature, which is being implemented at least in Germany. You can now order food online using Google search and Google Maps. We recently reported that it is easier to find and provide delivery and takeaway services via Google Maps. The innovation that has now been announced through the Google blog goes a few steps further.
For example, if you like sushi, you can use the new feature in Google search and Google Maps using the “Remove order” or “Order and receive it” button. At participating restaurants, you can receive food or pick it up with just a few clicks. Payment is made through Google Pay. According to the Google blog, you should be able to reorder your favorite dish with just a few clicks. Also, Google apps and website show if contactless delivery is possible.
