On Wednesday morning, two people fell out of the Erlenhof window on Lagerstrasse. The canton of Zurich’s security department confirmed in a message that the injured were two rejected asylum seekers. They “apparently came out of a window” and injured themselves jumping.

At the former Erlenhof care center, which switched from the canton to an emergency hospital at the beginning of the pandemic, 36 rejected asylum seekers have been housed since last Friday. Previously, there were several corona infections in Urdorf’s emergency shelter. (read more here). Criminals or those who “cannot stay in other accommodation for disciplinary reasons” stay at the RKZ Urdorf, writes the security department.

Already on Monday afternoon there was an operation in Lagerstrasse 119, as confirmed yesterday by the city police to the “Tages-Anzeiger”. The security department also commented on the ongoing police presence in its message: A strong presence is necessary “for criminal asylum seekers to adhere to protection measures.”

She notes that everyone in Switzerland must comply with quarantine regulations. Those affected in the Erlenhof would put themselves and others in danger with their behavior “and in the worst case” they would also infect passersby, writes the cantonal security direction.
