Sports director Sandro Burki says: “We would have loved to have Yvan with us. But if the price is right, no player is impossible for FC Aarau to sell.” FC Luzern has responded to Brügglifeld’s financial demands: we are talking about more than half a million francs. The FCA will also make money if Lucerne one day transfers to Alounga. Burki continued: “By accepting the transfer, we also comply with the wishes of Yvan and his environment.”
On Saturday, Alounga was not in the call for the home game against Wil (1: 3) because the agreement between FC Aarau and FC Luzern was pending. This then took place on Sunday. On Monday morning, Alounga finally completed medical tests in Lucerne before signing a long-term contract.
In January 2019, Alounga, then 16, took his first steps in the professional team of FC Aarau and made his mark when he scored two goals in a friendly against FC Sion. He made his competitive debut on matchday one of the 2019/20 season in Winterthur. Since then, he has played 30 competitive matches with FCA, 21 of them as a substitute. The result was five goals and five assists.
On the one hand, Alounga’s departure brings a lot of money to the FCA, but now he is effectively without a center forward. Shkelzen Gashi, who held this position in both games against Wil, is more comfortable than hanging on top. Therefore, part of the transfer fee must be used to replace Alounga.
