After Switzerland’s vaccination plan flopped and the world headed for an everlasting vaccination drama due to supply bottlenecks, there is finally good news again. Another vaccine is progressing in development. The American company Novavax said on Thursday that its coronavirus vaccine had shown an 89.3 percent effectiveness in a test in Britain.

Based on initial testing, the vaccine is nearly as effective against newly discovered virus mutations. About 15,000 people between the ages of 18 and 84 participated in the study. The company also announced that the study should form the basis for the approval process in Britain, the EU and other countries. The UK has already obtained 60 million doses of the unapproved vaccine.
