Wendy Holdener missed the World Cup final in Lenzerheide after a positive result from Corona.

As announced by Swiss-Ski, Holdener felt mild symptoms. The test later came back positive, as with coach Klaus Mayrhofer. According to the association, both are isolated.

A PCR test was also carried out on Holdener and Mayrhofer, the result of which should be available on Friday morning. Otherwise, no other member of the Swiss team tested positive on Thursday.

Season record: «Only» 3 times on the podium

The failure is to the extent bearable that Holdener could no longer intervene in the fight for the crystal balls. In her favorite discipline, slalom, the 27-year-old is almost 200 points behind leader Petra Vlhova in the World Cup. After a fibula injury in September, the result was three modest third places in winter 2020/21. At the Cortina d’Ampezzo World Cup, he left empty-handed.

Things are not going well for Swiss-Ski in Lenzerheide at the end of the famous season with rain of World Cup medals and the next successful defense of the title in the national ranking. The cancellation of the last sprint races significantly worsened the chances of Marco Odermatt and Lara Gut-Behrami in the fight for the World Championship overall.
