From tomorrow, therefore, stricter measures will be applied in the higher schools of the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden, as announced by the State Chancellery. The new regulations:

- Singing ban in music classes.
To avoid different solutions in the region, the ethics committee will coordinate with the governments of neighboring cantons when adopting new measures, according to the announcement.
Hospitals are reaching their limits
Until October 4, 2020, the weekly number of corona infections in the Canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden was always well below 10. Since October 5, the number of new infections in the canton has doubled every week and currently it is more than 100 cases per week. A change in trend is not currently in sight. “If this development continues, hospitals in the region will soon reach their capacity limits,” the canton writes. The professional ethics committee considers more stringent measures, such as those provided by the Federal Council, to be indispensable and is ready to adopt new cantonal measures if necessary.
The Federal Council has announced that it will toughen the measures next Wednesday. The professional ethics committee supports the move.
