ÖSV confirms serious knee injury in Schmidhofer

Nicole Schmidhofer suffered a torn cruciate ligament and collateral ligament in her left knee in her bad fall in the World Cup relegation race in Val d’Isère on Friday. This was confirmed by the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV) on Saturday after further investigations. This means that the 2017 Super G world champion will be canceled for the remainder of the season with the World Cup in Cortina d’Ampezzo in February. Schmidhofer fell into a high-speed passage and broke the first safety fence with his skis.

Crans-Montana replaces St. Moritz

One of the two women’s Super G races at St. Moritz, which were canceled due to weather conditions, will be rescheduled at Crans-Montana on January 24. The world federation FIS announced on Saturday. On January 22nd and 23rd, there are also two descents on the program at Crans Montana. The Super G races at St. Moritz were originally planned for December 5 and 6.
