The ban on major events with a maximum of 1000 people imposed as part of the corona pandemic will be lifted on October 1. What does this mean for professional league soccer and ice hockey games? Federal Councilor Alain Berset has now spoken.
The EDI writes in a message: “The championships of the national professional ice hockey and soccer leagues should be evaluated and approved uniformly throughout Switzerland. Therefore, more detailed requirements apply to your protection concepts than to other major events. “
Specifically, this means:
- Masks are required in all football and hockey stadiums.
- Only seats are allowed. A maximum of two thirds of the available seats can be occupied. This applies to both outdoor stadiums and hockey halls.
- There are no allowances for invited fans. Seats are mandatory in the food court.
- The sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages should be restricted in such a way that viewers do not endanger the observance of the concept of protection. Therefore, there is no absolute prohibition of alcohol in sports stadiums.
- The observance of the measures by the spectators must be monitored and infractions of the rules sanctioned.
Cantonal approval is required for the Games to take place. They could take additional steps. The FDHA writes: “If the epidemiological situation worsens significantly, a canton may revoke a license or impose restrictive conditions. For example, you can reduce the number of people allowed or stipulate a general mask requirement for all events. “(Red)
