In connection with the death of a young man from a possibly unknown substance in Basel, another young man was arrested on suspicion of failing to provide emergency assistance. A 15-year-old is free again.
The man arrested is a 16-year-old, Peter Gill, a media spokesman for the Basel prosecutor’s office, said Wednesday at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency. Blick.ch had previously reported on the arrest.
A 15-year-old who was also arrested is at large, according to Gill. However, the process against him continues. A total of three adults and two youths are being investigated on suspicion of failing to provide emergency assistance.

The cause of the death of the 15-year-old is still unclear and is being investigated by the Institute of Legal Medicine and the Prosecutor’s Office.

The 15-year-old was found dead in a friend’s apartment in Basel around 5 p.m. Monday. He had stayed in the apartment with other classmates and young adults. Paramedics were alerted just hours after the young man’s death.
