Injury time in the Nations League game between Iceland and England was tough.

England pushed, England turned, but England just couldn’t get the ball into goal for a long time. Gareth Southgate’s team worked hard for 70 minutes, then came the next blow to the neck: Kyle Walker was sent off the field with yellow and red. In the final phase, the events happened.

First, an Icelander had to shower early: Sverrir Ingi Ingason had committed a hand in his own penalty area. The ensuing penalty was used by Raheem Sterling cheekily: he casually pushed the ball into the middle.

But that’s not all: in the 93rd minute, the referee whistled a penalty on the other side. Former Basel resident Birkir Bjarnason took responsibility and threw the leather over the bar. England won 1-0 in Reykjavik and thus returned the favor for the embarrassment of the round of 16 of the European Championship in 2016.

Belgium is docile Denmark

It only took 7 minutes for the Belgians to show their class in Copenhagen, or to be more precise: Yannick Carrasco. He circled a free kick from the left to the crossbar with pinpoint precision. Denmark goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel was still there with his fingertips, and that had consequences.

The next corner led to the well-deserved 1-0 for the “Red Devils”. Jason Denayer used a Dries Mertens center with an inside foot. Successful up front and tight at the back, that’s how the Belgians managed the game afterward. Too little came from the home team. The Danes only had one chance in the Belgian case. In the 76th minute, Mertens scored the decisive 2-0.
