The European Gymnastics Championships in Turkey will be held in December without the participation of Switzerland. Also, there will be no Swiss championships in 2020.
The corona pandemic also hits gymnastics with full force, at least in Switzerland. The Swiss championships, which should have taken place in Schaffhausen on November 14, have been canceled. This was confirmed by the Swiss Gymnastics Federation on Monday afternoon.
“As a result of a positive COVID-19 test, the training of the national gymnastics squad had to be stopped at the Magglingen association center. The athletes of the squad are in quarantine until further notice ”, reported the STV.

No Swiss team in MS
Furthermore, the STV announced that it would not send a Swiss delegation to the European Championships in December. The continental title fights will take place December 9-13 (men) and December 17-20 (women) in Mersin, Turkey.
Originally, MS should have taken place in Baku. In Azerbaijan, however, major events were banned from the beginning to the end of the year.
