SCB Cup winners with strong comeback against Servette – Zug is expanding his winning streak
In the National League, SC Bern can take the momentum from the cup final. The Bernese beat Servette at home after a 1: 3 deficit with 4: 3 after a penalty shoot-out and narrowed the gap to 10th place to seven points.
Bern – Servette 4: 3 nP
As in the last two weeks against Langnau, Lausanne and Ambri-Piotta, SC Bern also defeated HC Geneva-Servette after falling behind. The Geneva team led 3: 1 and until the 58th minute still 3: 2, but lost 3: 4 after a penalty shoot-out.
Bern had already drawn late against Lausanne and won 6: 5 in extra time. This time around, Cory Conacher only managed to match 3: 3 for the majority with 173 seconds left. On the penalty shootout, Tristan Scherwey, Inti Pestoni and Vincent Praplan finally succeeded one after another. This gave Bern a promising start to March, with 15 games for the SCB, next Thursday in Davos.
Servette had to put up with the accusation Tuesday that after a strong start and 3-1 lead at 26 minutes, it had declined significantly. The Genevans acted too passively in the second half of the match and were punished for it.

Zug – Ambri 5: 4
Even the formidable Ambri-Piotta can’t stop the EV train. The Swiss center-back achieved its eighth consecutive victory against Leventines 5: 4.
After three hard-fought victories at Zug, the fourth Gotthard derby of the season was also controversial, and also spectacular. The lead changed four times before Zug defender Santeri Alatalo made the decision just two minutes before the end with a 5: 4 majority. After the 32nd win in the 41st game of the season, Zug now leads the pack. table with 19 and more points ahead of the competition.
The fact that it remained exciting until the end was mainly due to the unusual large amount of indiscipline that the EVZ exhibited that night. After initial lead after just 74 seconds by Zug’s top scorer, Dario Simion (21st goal of the season), veterans Justin Abdelkader (over 800 NHL games) and Dominik Schlumpf (over 60 international games) ) lost by carelessness, the Ambri to 1 -1 and 2: 1 exploited. In Ticino’s goals at 3: 3 (35th) and 4: 3 (39th), a coach sat on the penalty bench.
But Ambri failed to reward himself for a brave appearance against League Primus. In the end, coach Luca Cereda’s team broke young Petr Cajka’s leg shortly before the end of the neck. Zug took advantage of the penalty to score the winning goal and thus closed the mini-high of Leventines ninth with three suite victories beforehand.

Lugano – Biel 2: 6
EHC Biel moved closer to the top six with a 6-2 away win in Lugano, ensuring a safe quarter-final in the playoffs. Prior to this round, Lugano was ranked sixth in all ranking variations (points or points per game). If Biel, who had lost three times in a row at his own stadium, had to come off the ice again with no points, the top 6 would have fallen far short.
The Bielers resisted the pressure to win, although Lugano was already ahead of five minutes at Resega. Fabio Hofer secured the return in the first leg with goals at 1: 1 and 3: 1. Hofer even completed the hat trick in the final with 6: 2. Tino Kessler (2: 1), Konstantin Komarek (4: 1) and Marc-Antoine Pouliot (5: 2) also met.
In Lugano, after an impressive series (eight wins in a row), the sand got back into the machine. The Ticino team won just two of the last six games, and they have missed three of the last four home games, two of them clearly and one against the Lakers, who have not won anywhere else in the last almost three months.

Lausanne – Freiburg 4: 5 nP
Lausanne pays tribute to the stressful workload. The Vaudois played 8 games in the last 14 days and only managed one win in regulation time. At Malley-Halle the 4: 5 after the penalty shoot-out against Friborg-Gottéron marked the fourth consecutive defeat. And Lausanne still has an average of five games to catch up with the competition.
Lausanne led 1-0 against Gottéron and regained a 3-1 deficit in the second period. Overall, however, the Vaudois chased for 39 minutes. Christoph Bertschy tied at 4: 4 eight minutes before the end. Lausanne was unable to reward itself, however, because the LHC made too many defenses on the defensive.
Chris DiDomenico and Yannick Herren scored the most important goals for Freiburg on penalties. Both had already scored for Gottéron in regulation time.
