Servette Gin – ZSC 3: 4 nP
The 3-week break in the league seemed to have done the ZSC well at first. The “Löwen” started the game off with a scathing start, the early 1-0 through Fredrik Pettersson (4th) in the power play was the logical consequence. Phil Baltisberger double 9 minutes later. For a long time, the people of Geneva had little access. And Eric Fehr’s subsequent goal (48th) would not have fallen if Pius Suter had not been sadly distracted. But “would have, would have, bicycle chain”: Damien Riat came in after a slip by Garrett Roe to equalize 2-2.
2 minutes before the end, Chris Baltisberger deflected a shot from Sven Andrighetto towards the supposed winning goal, but Linus Omark tied again just 12 seconds later. Lukas Flüeler pushed the panel over the line himself. On the penalty shootout, the ZSC prevailed thanks to two successful penalties by Petterson.
Freiburg-Gottéron – Biel 4: 1
Thanks to the three at home to Biel, Freiburg are at least temporarily at the top of the National League table. The 4-1 win came true from the start: Gottéron captain Julien Sprunger opened the skore in the third minute, and for the veteran it was the first goal of the season. Just 38 seconds later, Beat Forster tied for the troubled Bieler. The highlight of the match was provided by David Desharnais, who made Biel’s defense look old with a nice feint in the 13th minute and scored to make it 2-1. Kilian Mottet (52nd) and Sprunger (58th) in the empty arc made the decision from the point of view of Christian Dubé’s team in the final third.
Rapperswil – Ambri 4: 1
While Lugano was unable to travel to German-speaking Switzerland due to the Gotthard Lock, Ambri reached Rapperswil on time. But the Leventines did not go up against the Lakers and suffered a well deserved defeat. Roman Cervenka triumphed in Rapperswil. The Czech top scorer was directly involved in 3 goals (2 goals and 1 assist) and thus made the decisive difference. Ambri coach Luca Cereda traded goalkeeper Damiano Ciaccio for Benjamin Conz after Cervenkas 3-0 in the 29th minute. A move that temporarily stabilized the guests, but ultimately did not have the desired impact. Andrew Rowe countered Julius Nättinen’s consolation goal in the 36th minute just 90 seconds later with the final score 4-1 goal.
