- The ZSC Lions lose 0-2 at home to Lausanne and miss qualification for the playoff quarterfinals.
- The first pair before the playoffs is certain: Davos will face Bern.
- In the showdown for last place in the playoffs, Biel prevailed 5-1 after a big change in Geneva.
ZSC – Lausanne 0: 2
The ZSC Lions would have needed a single point against Lausanne to safely qualify for the quarterfinals of the playoffs. Because goalkeeper Ludovic Waeber did not allow anything until 2 minutes before the final siren, the Lions’ plan worked for a long time. But 133 seconds before the end, Tim Bozon managed to make it 1-0, and because Waebers’ antipode Tobias Stephan remained flawless, this shot was also the decision. Christoph Bertschy still scored ZSC’s empty goal. Due to the defeat at 60 minutes, Zurich will have to shake again on Monday in Langnau. Then you need at least one point, or a loss of points from Biel or Geneva.
Lakers – Lugano 0: 5
Ticino set the course for victory early on at Obersee. Julian Walker made it 1-0 in 104 seconds. It should be the decisive goal, because the Lakers could not get on the scene offensively. Luca Fazzini (21st), Mark Arcobello (23rd), Sandro Zangger (33rd) and Reto Suri (39th) all increased in the middle third until the final score of 5: 0. The Lakers forgave their best player Roman Cervenka with respect to the pre-playoffs.
Ambri 2-1 Davos
After HCD failed to play the fixed standings for the playoffs on Thursday, the Graubünden team lost to Ambri on Saturday, it was the penultimate game in the venerable Valascia. Fabrice Herzog equalized Dominic Zwerger’s lead in the 48th minute as he was outnumbered. Ten minutes later, Marco Müller did the same and also scored one man less on the ice to win. While for Ambri (11th) the season will end after the home game against Gottéron on Monday night, Davos will face SC Bern in the pre-playoff phase.
SCL Tigers – Zug 5: 3
Ironically, against the undisputed leader of Zug, the SCL Tigers finished their 11-loss series on Saturday. After Emmentaler won 3: 1 in the final section on Maundy Thursday in Lugano and lost 3: 7, they did better this time against EVZ. The victory was achieved thanks to two and a half minutes in the middle third: Jules Sturny, Tom Andersons and Andrea Glauser went from 1: 1 to 4: 1 in 153 seconds. At Langnau, 19-year-old No. 3 keeper Damian Stettler also shone with 39 saves.
