Simply put, SCB is humiliated by Lausanne: Ambri and Servette also celebrate big victories
EV Zug extends his National League lead to five points with a 2-0 win at Biel. SC Bern is falling deeper and deeper: he gets under the wheels of the newly placed Lausanne 1: 7 in second place.
Lausanne – Bern 7: 1
SC Bern started the new year as it had ended the previous one: with a defeat. After the second third, the game in Lausanne was decided in favor of the Vaudois. “It can’t be worse,” several SCB stars said on New Year’s Eve following a 3: 4 loss in the Langnau derby. Can. After just 166 seconds and a double hit from defenders Lukas Frick and Fabian Heldner (first goal of the season in the 300th NLA game), the Bernese trailed 2-0 at the Vaudoise Arena.
They didn’t recover from that, despite Ted Brithén’s acting 1: 2. Etienne Froidevaux recovered the difference of two goals in the first section, while Ronalds Kenins and Cory Conacher made more than one preliminary decision in the middle third. Especially bitter for the SCB: Kenins had previously waited 16 games for a sense of achievement, and with Conacher (also 6-1) and Froidevaux, two ex-Berners met.
However, that is the smallest problem for the successful club from the capital. They are currently in last place, and the game in Lausanne made it clear why this is so. Action is not lacking, but you indulge in stupid penalties (including experienced captain Simon Moser), you make too many mistakes defensively and in front of goal there is complete uncertainty.
The removal of coach Don Nachbaur in early December also failed to no avail. Intermist boss Mario Kogler won the first game, since he has ranked five losses.

Biel – train 0: 2
EV Zug confirmed his leadership position with a close 2-0 victory in Biel. The winners of the match were striker Gregory Hofmann and goalkeeper Leonardo Genoni.
The decisive scene came in the 16th minute when Grégory Hofmann confidently completed a good combination over Jan Kovar and Lino Martschini on a power play. The last strong form Bieler ran after the deficit all the way to no avail. Above all, the majority’s game, otherwise compelling, failed for once.
The Zugers also had enough chances to bring the victory to dryness earlier. Both Joren van Pottelberghe in the Bieler Tor and national goalkeeper Leonardo Genoni in the Central Switzerland area remained strong. Genoni had 21 shots for his shutout. The decision was made in the penultimate minute, when Sven Leuenberger hit an empty goal.

Ambri – Freiburg 5: 0
Ambri-Piotta came with a 5-0 win against Friborg-Gottéron to his first win after five losses. For its part, Freiburg lost for the first time after five successes.
Upside down world at Leventina: While Ambri-Piotta put an end to his negative series, the previously positively surprising Freiburg was under the wheels for once. The Leventinos regained the strength that had given them a dizzying flight in early December: offensive vortices (44 shots!) And a solid defense.
The preliminary decision was made in the middle third when Americans Bryan Flynn and Johnny Kneubuehler rose to 3-0. At the beginning of the last section, Dominic Zwerger finally closed the lid with a shorthander. Damiano Ciaccio reached his first shutout dressing Ambri with 33 saves.

Davos – Lugano 1: 3
HC Lugano won against Davos for the fifth time in a row, this time 3-1. In the middle third, Ticino made the difference.
Davos deserves a trip for HC Lugano. For the second time in seven days, the people of Ticino returned via San Bernardino with three points. After a balanced third of the start, Dario Bürgler and Mikkel Bödker took a 3-1 lead, which lasted until the end.
Davos was particularly upset by the 1: 3 when Magnus Nygren lost the stick and Davos, already outnumbered, could only defend three of them. They saw a foul, but Bödker’s blow counted.
Even after that, the Luganesi were closer to 4: 1 than the Bündners at the connecting gate. The feared opponent held back the recently strengthened Davos.
