Four Nättinen goals! Ambri presents the leader of ZSC – Lausanne for the first time

Five days ago, the ZSC Lions topped the National League table. Since then, the ZSC has experienced a medium Waterloo: the explosive Z-Derbies against Zug were lost 3: 6 and 2: 8. And at Ambri the Lions conceded a 2-5 loss.

Ambri – ZSC Lions 5: 2

After four losses in a row, Ambri-Piotta returned to victory with a 5-2 win against the ZSC Lions. The winner of the match was Julius Nättinen with four hits, Valascia partially shaken as in the old days away from the Crown.

The Leventines had managed to score a measly eleven goals, nine of them outnumbered, in the first eight games of the championship. Against the Lions they scored four goals in 8:41 minutes after Garrett Roe (24th) went 0-1. Nättinen underlined why he had been traded as the next Dominik Kubalik prior to his first assignment for Ambri-Piotta. Kubalik traded the Chicago Blackhawks to the NHL in 2019 after scoring 97 scorer points (37 hits) in 90 championship games for Ticino.

Nättinen, last season’s top scorer in the Finnish top league, was 1: 1 (28th), 3: 1 (32nd), 4: 1 (37th) and with a shot in the empty box to put the 5 : 2 (58th) successful. He scored the first two goals on a power play off a cross pass from Dominic Zwerger, who had four assists, with a direct shot. This also reminds Kubalik. Thus, Nättinen entered the scorers list in the sixth serious fight with Ambri-Piotta (including a match in the Cup). In the National League his goals were five to eight. 2-1 defender Michael Fora (28th) fell just 25 seconds after the tie.

While the Leventines celebrated their second championship win this season and their first against ZSC after five losses, the Lions lost for the third time in a row. The fact that he conceded 19 goals should give Zurich even more to think about: against EVZ they lost 3: 6 and 2: 8.

Servette – Bern 5: 3

After three wins in a row, SC Bern and goalkeeper Tomi Karhunen were stopped in Geneva. Servette defeated the Bernese 5-3; Canadian Eric Fehr, 35, turned out to be the great figure.

Fehr made it 1-0 first after twelve minutes of excess and defeated Karhunen for the first time after 138 minutes without conceding a goal. In the second section, Fehr increased it to 2-0 after just 13 seconds using a deflector.

But that was far from the end of the Eric Fehr show. In the 56th minute, Fehr finally secured Servette’s victory with a double hit in 40 seconds from 3: 1 to 5: 1. For the first time, he scored four goals in a match on Swiss ice. Fehr has already registered 10 points and 7 goals in the first six games of the Geneva championship.

The duel between the formally strong Swedish scorers was clearly for Servette’s Linus Omark (2 assists). Berns Ted Brithén did not score this time, but was on the ice after conceding several goals.

SCL Tigres – Freiburg 3: 4 nV

The SCL Tigers are still waiting for their first win in regulation time. Against Friborg-Gottéron, the Langnauers lost their first “three” by 90 seconds.

And the residents of Emmental in the empty Ilfishalle were left with nothing but frustration and anger. The SCL Tigers played strong against the opponent, who was clearly noticeable from the ten-day quarantine that had just ended. They dominated the game and still lost. Because goalkeeper Reto Berra (37 stops) played better than his counterpart Ivars Punnenovs (27 stops), and because Langnauer made too many mistakes.

DiDomenico scores against the former team:

The SCL Tigers converted a 1: 2 to a 3: 2 in the final leg, but received a penalty of two minutes 110 seconds before the end for too many players on the ice and 20 seconds later with four against six outfield players tie 3 : 3 (by Yannick Herren). In extra time, Ryan Gunderson led Freiburg to victory after just 54 seconds.

Lausanne – Lugano 2: 1 nV

Lausanne celebrated their fifth consecutive victory (including the cup) after extra time against Lugano 2-1. For the first time since September 30, 2016, the ambitious Vaudois return to first place in the National League.

Lausanne had to endure the victory over Lugano. The two goalkeepers Tobias Stephan (35 stops) and Niklas Schlegel (34 stops) fought a duel at the highest level. Only Daniel Carr (Lugano) and Charles Hudon (Lausanne) were able to overcome the two goalkeepers in regulation time.

The winning goal in extra time was also due to a Canadian: Josh Jooris escaped from Lugano’s defense and left Schlegel unable to defend himself.

Lausanne’s joy was clouded by the fourth victory in the fourth home game and the championship lead by the failure of Charles Hudon. The newly signed Canadian was injured in the 55th minute.
