Zug encourages the Lions: Kovar hits so wonderfully in the power play(00:50)
At the beginning of the last third it is loud again in the Hallenstadion. The ZSC Lions equal the long and somewhat one-sided game at 52 seconds. Hope is growing to turn another home game against EV Zug. But this time it doesn’t work.
In the initial phase, the Zurich team negotiated four small penalties that resulted in two goals conceded. At first, however, the EVZ not only combines excessively precision, at high speed and imperatively. Zürich people also sit outside because they don’t follow the rhythm and intensity at the beginning and therefore often arrive a step too late.
The referees can whistle a bit, but no one is at a disadvantage. When spectators complain about penalties against their favorites, Messrs. Lemelin and Mollard compensate as if they were in command and thus also give Zurich excess chances.
Zug convinces with impressive organization and tested variants, a solution always seems to be at hand at the front and rear. At best, you are embarrassed if you are twice outnumbered, on regular play defensive bars and pressing the mesh without problems. The EVZ is more disciplined on defense and more consistent up front. The decisive goals fall when the home side loses their way after Zug’s team has picked up their pace.
