Watchmaker Swatch fell victim to hackers this past weekend. Some activities are still affected by this cyber attack, explained the Biel-based company at the request of AWP. Swatch now wants to file a complaint against unknown persons.
Over the weekend, Swatch found “clear signs of a developing cyber attack,” according to a written statement from the group. For security reasons, some computer systems have been closed preventively, with the corresponding effects on “certain activities”.
The scope of the attack is secret.
The Swatch Group analyzed the attack and immediately took all appropriate measures and implemented the necessary corrections, Swatch emphasized. A return to normality is expected “as soon as possible”.
The group did not indicate which activities were affected by the shutdown, or how large the scale of the cyber attack is. (pbe / SDA)
