In accordance with regulations in public transport, winter sports enthusiasts must now wear a protective mask not only in closed waiting rooms, but also when queuing. This is what Berno Stoffel, director of Seilbahnen Schweiz, told the Keystone-SDA news agency on Sunday. Thus confirmed a report in the Sunday newspaper.
To avoid large crowds, the association also recommends that railways use clear signage, barriers, and staff in waiting rooms.
Seilbahnen Schweiz sent the new protection concept to its members on Friday evening. It was also submitted to the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG). “Not because we had to, but to make it plausible,” Stoffel told the Sunday newspaper.
The concept must be binding. In addition to railway operators, cantons must also comply with this to ensure uniform regulation. The concepts of national protection are applied as a basis.
The association had already presented a concept with rules for cable cars and ski lifts in early October. At the time, a mask requirement was only prescribed on closed lanes.
